As the President pointed out, it's time for America to put away the childish panic and grow the hell up. We've got a long way to go, maybe starting with how we treat our children: from giving them some independence, to protecting their fundamental human dignity, to restoring some basic sanity to our application of the law.

I'm glad my fellow citizens, after fucking up the past eight years, finally managed to make a good choice; let's see if we can all follow through, together.
