Water, food, tent, sleeping bag. Everything else is just comfort or amusement.

I'm heading to the Kelso Dunes first. I don't know how long I'll be there; the only other things in the park I was thinking of seeing was the cinder cones and Hole-In-the-Wall. Mainly I want to find someplace where I don't see any signs of civilization, then stay there. I'm likely to be back home by New Year's Eve, mostly for the annual dojo celebration, though eventually I'll run out of food I want to eat. If I'm miserable, I'll head over to Big Sur or Monterey or San Luis Obispo or something.
