I took a picture today using the timer on my camera. I like it.

My chimney finally got done today. It had already gotten cleaned, but they found some gaps in the masonry that seemed like reasonable safety concerns (like where there was only one course of decaying brick between the chimney interior and the wood framing of the house), so they needed to come back and apply a bunch of mortar. The guy finally arrived after several scheduling snafus, and spent a couple of hours mortaring some of the most inconvenient parts of a chimney you can think of: at one point he said, "Aw, man, this is the worst part of my job, right here. I hate this part." Pleasant guy to have around; hopefully he did a good job. So sometime in the next few weeks I'll make a fire and see if the house burns down.
