I'm listening to a delightful recording of Handel's Messiah--hearing baroque music in English still feels sort of alien to me. It messed with my head for a long time, because I knew very well that "Georg Handel" is a fine German name and why on Earth was the Hallelujah Chorus in English?! Finally I read somewhere that he eventually emigrated (immigrated?) to England (the full story is a bit more complex and sensible). Puzzle solved.
