There are some alcohols, like bourbon or beer, that provide you with what you might call the ISO Standard Intoxication: loss of coordination, slurred speech, blurred thought. And some are...different, somehow. Tequila and absinthe, primarily. They have vaguely psychedelic effects, like being drunk only your mind is warped somehow.
My favorite is Tequila Corralejo, the only tequila made in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, whose capital is the city of the same name, which is an absolutely wonderful place to be.
We got back from Burning Man 2002 (writeup not quite done yet) on Monday morning. We hadn't gotten much sleep over the weekend--having too much fun--so we slept. I actually started taking care of work that night, since the database had died while we were gone. Not my fault, but I had to ascertain that and report back to the co-workers.
